Some of you have been directed to Evanna's site here for the current situation, so below is a brief update. But more details and more timely posts will be on her Facebook Community Page.
But here's where we're at: Evanna has a tethered spinal cord, and been showing signs of it causing issues (major bladder function changes, signs of pain, etc) and so has been scheduled for detethering surgery. Currently scheduled for Aug 20th (more on that in a bit), and recovery taking at least through the following Friday. But there's a 25% chance or so for a shunt failure, so could require longer.
Because of the previous hospitalizations, our savings, as meager as it was, has been depleted.
To compound this issue, we also were just notified that the owner of the house we've been in for 2.5 years will be selling, so we have to move by August 31st...which could very well be while Evanna and JoAnn are up at Seattle Children's.
So things are a tad stressful, both in regard to her health and financially. To help, a friend has started a fundraiser to help cover those expenses when is here.
If you can help, it would be a tremendous comfort, whether by giving or sharing.
Thank you so much!
