Silverwood, Accessibility, and Inclusion…

We’ve run into a couple issues this year at Silverwood that have been baffling.

The first was the season started with a change in their Courtesy Pass program, which was initially set as a 1+1 (the disabled person plus one accompanying person) entering through the alternate entrance. All others in the group had to wait in the regular line. What’s worse is that it was done under the guise of (and this is even printed on the Courtesy Pass) that they “strive to offer an equal experience for all [their] guests…”).

After a few days of back and forth with the Guest Relations Manager, pointing out several concerns with the policy, the directors met, and decided to change to a 1+3.

But then there’s this (the IG post below). Evanna’s been a fixture at Silverwood since the season after we moved here in 2021. We’ve had more issues with this just at the beginning of this season than we have had all the others combined. No idea whether it’s a policy change or a training issue, but it’s persistent.

And so far, the only response (starting at a slightly critical post the week before this post) is that I was blocked from being able to tag Silverwood. 🤷‍♂️
