So…early this year I became aware of an issue with the website. Long story short, it had been exploited last year, and the only way I could get the site stable enough to log in was a complete reinstallation of WordPress, which wiped everything (posts, media, etc). So I just left in maintenance mode since then.
Fast forward to a week or so ago, I had a thought…what could I recover from Wayback Machine/Internet Archive without taking me an astronomical amount of time? Turns out, I was able to get Codex AI to do all of that, and then some. It recovered a lot from Wayback, but once connected to the website, it was able to recover fragments of files and posts, and recreate everything–posts, media, the site theme.
There are some small housekeeping things I’ll need to still do, like link featured images on posts, but…
